More than 12 contracts will be awarded in 2010 says IMA report. As oil prices ease up above 80 dollars/barrel, the FPSO industry has seen increasing optimism in terms of new projects.

Naysayers however have their reservations about the growth potential of the industry. “Dearth of new oil discoveries set to significantly reduce number of floating production, storage and offloading vessels heading for Australia” - 23 April 2010

Despite these reports, the future however is still definitely looking bright in the short term.
