BW Offshore signs LoI for BW Carmen
(15 March 2010): BW Offshore has signed a Letter of Intent (LoI) for the use of the FPSO BW Carmen with Ithaca Energy and partners. The FPSO will be employed on the Athena oil fi eld on the UK sector and is expected to commence production mid-2011.
Peregrino awaits floating production vessel
(24 March 2010): Statoil has completed heavy offshore lifting of two wellhead platforms on the Peregrino oil fi eld offshore Brazil. The development is the group’s largest offshore project outside the Norwegian Continental Shelf.

(19 February 2010): Deepwater projects in Brazil and West Africa, along with an increasing demand in Asia are factors that Infi eld cites as indicators of expected growth in the FPSO market. (17 December 2009): Well-placed sources said Petrofac has chosen a fl oating production, storage and offl oading vessel as its preferred development concept for phase two ahead of either a mobile offshore production unit or a fi xed platform and subsea pipeline.
Ezra clinches $734m contract to operate FPSO in Vietnam for 6 years
(February 8 2010): Ezra Holdings, EOC, PetroVietnam, and KSI Production are establishing a joint venture company that will supply an FPSO and related services to Premier Oil for the Chim Sao project, offshore Vietnam. As part of the joint venture agreement, Ezra will provide the tanker Lewek Emas for conversion into the FPSO.
SBM to Charter FPSO for Petrobras
(April 13, 2010): SBM announced that one of its Affi liates and Queiroz Galvão Óleo e Gás S.A. (QGOG), have received a Letter Of Pre-commitment (LOP) from Petrobras Netherlands, Petroleo Brasileiro S.A. – Petrobras as Operator of the Consortium BM-S-11.
NOPSA issues safety alerts in response to fires on floaters
(April 23, 2010): The Nopsa safety alerts follow serious incidents on two FPSOs off Western Australia that resulted in both vessels being banned from operating for a while.
